There are over ten dialysis Centers in downtown area that have patients that routinely need non-ambulatory services. We have 15+ vehicles available to provide such services 6 days a week, 2 am to 7 pm. Other hours and days by appointment on availability basis. We take care of patients needing transportation and provide much needed service in the community. Our company provides door to door service for each individual patient and our vehicles are well maintained and clean. Our drivers practice good hygiene and are professional. All our employees are trained to show understanding and respect to all patients, family members, and any other healthcare professionals. Our motto with the drivers is that we are first in the business of serving people who happen to be patients and then secondly in transporting.

  • The driver has to obtain Heartsaver, standard First Aid CPR training sponsored by the American Heart Association.

  • The driver is interviewed and introduced to the general operations of the business operations. Service is emphasized to drivers because they will be transporting people who happen to be patients. Patients are sometimes elderly and/or ill and at times may be very unreasonable, or cranky and they are to maintain their cool at all times.

  • The driver has to have a clean driving record and has to pass a random Drug and Alcohol test performed by a legal entity.

  • The hired driver, then, accompanies one of the existing drivers to be introduced to the nature of the business on the field, usually for 2 weeks if they are new and 2 days if they are experienced.

  • Before the final hiring of the new driver, a complete day is spent with the manager at the time. The new driver is asked to drive the vehicle and be monitored as to how he or she treats the patients and have it corrected on the spot if necessary.

  • Periodically, we do follow up and call the patients and the medical centers to evaluate our drivers and the quality of service they provide.

  • All existing employees must renew CPR and first aid certification and may be subject to random drug testing.

Health Care Transport, Inc. dba Silver Medical Transportation operates mainly in Downtown Los Angeles and the surrounding areas including Montebello, Beverly Hills, Inglewood, South Gate and Hollywood. Other areas including Orange County are served on a case by case basis with prior appointments depending on availability.

We provide services on advanced booking basis 24 -48 hours in advance. Same Day Transportation may be provided based on availability.
Please be sure before making reservation as, we go through intricate process to schedule routes and drivers accordingly. As such, cancellation has inherent costs associated with scheduling and credit card fees. While we know that sometimes there are uncontrollable factors that cause cancellations, nevertheless we also have inherent costs in cancellations.
Here are our cancellation fees:
More than 1 day, 6%
1 Day, 25%
Same Day 50%.
We are a private pay service provider (we accept visa, master card, Amex, discover and HHMT gift cards). Our incredible management team is currently working on contracting with various insurance groups to soon accept insurance for transportation service coverage. Currently, we accept Medi-Cal as insurance provider for dialysis services. Appointments would have to be considered on case by case basis.

We understand that this need may arise. We can certainly reschedule, if you are rescheduling 24 hours in advance, there is no fees, Same day rescheduling may have 15% additional fee depending on schedule and if it is easy to accommodate, there will be no fees.
